Mariana Leon will be heading off to the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to major in psychology in order to become a pediatrician or child psychologist. “UCI is closer to my home so I wouldn’t have to travel any farther and I’d still be able to be with my family,” said Leon. Although her family was apprehensive about her going to UCI, Leon was able to show them the benefits of going and now her family couldn’t be happier or prouder of her decision. Her advice for incoming freshmen would be to, “push yourself out of your comfort zone because no one else will do it for you.”
