On January 31st, art teacher Helen Seigel took her art student on a memorable field trip to appreciate local Orange County art.
Her AP Art, Art 3, and selected Art 2 students experienced OCMA (Orange County Museum of Art), UCI’s University Art Gallery, and lastly, a picnic lunch at the Noguchi Gardens which is located near South Coast Plaza.
At OCMA, students were split up into groups and guided by excellent docents through the gallery, making five stops to focus on diverse work. Students also had hands-on experience, drawing a model for the new museum building.
At the end of their trip, they ate lunch and wandered around the wonderful space Noguchi Gardens, designed by artist Isamu Noguchi.
Here are some images Seigel took on their adventure:

It’s nice to see that art students are getting an opportunity like this and being able to experience other works of art in their area.
