The Godinez softball team has continuous outstanding wins. Winning some of the top schools. The ladies softball team is now listed on the OC’s top 25 softball teams.

Being a top team does put pressure on them. Varsity centerfielder, Daniela Torres appreciates, “Being one of the top 25 softball teams, but it does put some pressure on us to win every game we play to stay there or go up.”

The most best aspect about the softball team is their progress since last year’s team. Torres, stated that, “The team this year has improved and grown as one. I hope all the girls know they are all individually amazing but we have to fight now to reach our goal.”

They are currently dominating every team that goes against them.

Currently, with an overall record of 7-0, the Godinez softball team has struck out top teams such as: Oxford Academy, Rancho Alamitos, Valencia/Placentia and San Dimas.

The girl’s softball team looks forward to winning all their games and so do their coaches. Their coach, Ed Medina, said, “I expect to go deep into the playoffs” and Torres knows that “We have one big goal this year and it’s to win CIF.”

Medina reassures us that they are “7-0, with three games left. In three games we should be league champions.”

We can only question the girls’ game-winning strategies. Coach Medina reassures us that the success in the team results from a great chemistry between the girls. He likes that, “All 14 of them get along well.”

Looking forward to playoffs, Medina added, “This is a great senior team with great leaders. Our captains have been encouraging to all the other players.”

He also states that the “Student Body Organization (ASB) has been a great help.”

We can support the girls softball team now and watch them as they advance the ranks and crush their last three games.
