Ever wondered who at Godinez are MVPs in their respected sports every month. No? Well, you’re reading an article about athletes who are some of the most hardworking athletes on campus anyway.

Boys’ Basketball: David Miramontes; 12th Grader; Varsity

“David leads our team in rebounding and has been our leading scorer in many games scorer in many games.” ~Greg Coombs

Girls’ Basketball: Mimi Arreola; 11th Grader; Varsity

“Mimi Arreola has been on a tear for the Lady Grizzly Ballers over the past five games. Although Mimi is the second smallest player on the team, she plays with one of the biggest hearts. Congratulations Mimi and keep up the G.R.I.N.D.!!!!” ~Alvin Jr. Alaman

Boys’ Soccer: Santiago Victor-Vega 12th Grader Varsity

“Santiago is a hard worker on the field as well as in the classroom. He is willing to sacrifice for the team, and his commitment to the team and the way he carries himself is an example for the younger players on the team.” ~Ruben Fernandez

Girls’ Soccer: Fernanda Perez 11th Grader Varsity

“Fernanda has emerged as a strong leader in her Junior year. She works hard every day and never complains. Even though she is fairly soft spoken, she is one of the most vocal players on the field and helps direct the defense.” ~Sara MacLennan

Girls’ Water Polo: Andrea Muniz 12th Grader Varsity

“Andrea has been instrumental in helping maintain organization and effort during our current head coaching transition. She is an excellent example of being a servant leader and is an extremely hard worker.” ~Coach Wright/Lisa Treen

Boys’ Wrestling: Hector Pineda 12th Grader Varsity

“This Grizzly is being nominated for his dedication on and off the mat. He also placed 3rd in one of the toughest tournaments in Santa Ana.” ~Coach Corona

Girls’ Wrestling: Kimberly Angeles 11th Grader Varsity

“Kimberly has improved very much these past couple weeks and has competed at the highest level. Her level of commitment is inspiring and I can’t wait to see her compete again.” ~Coach Corona
