How to Make Cake Pops for the Holidays

Everyone loves to bake and make for the holidays. Here is a Christmas Cake Pops recipe for family and friends to enjoy. Approved by only the best journalism class at Godinez Fundamental High School.




  • Boxed cake mix (yellow) – 16 oz
  • 1 and 1/4 cup of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 stick of butter (melted)
  • Frosting – 16 oz
  • 16 oz bag of melting white or dark chocolate (JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels sells it)
  • 18 six inch lollipop sticks (Again buy JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels)




  1. Prepare the cake mix with milk, then mix, add eggs, mix again, then add melted butter, mix and poor into any baking pan.
  2. When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl, and stir in frosting until well blended. Refrigerate for one hour to set cake mixture.
  3. Melt chocolate in a bowl in the microwave until smooth.
  4. Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls of the chocolate cake mixture.
  5. Dip the balls in chocolate using a toothpick or fork to hold them.
  6. Add sticks at least half way down quickly before chocolate completely cools.
  7. Place on waxed paper to set.
  8. Repeat for remaining pops.
