English teacher Monique Statler- Statler says that her story is “no different than any other woman's story.” Hers is the usual catcalling by construction workers while she’s walking down the sidewalk, inappropriate remarks, staring and leering and just things that made her feel uncomfortable. She believes women should not have to go through that on a daily basis.

Over 3 million people have shared#MeToo on social media  since the revelation of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal. The #MeToo movement was founded by black activist Tarana Burke in 2006 on Twitter to raise awareness around sexual violence. Here are the #MeToo stories that affected our fellow Grizzlies. We thank them for their courage to speak up and share.

The world you and I share can be a rather sick one at that. Men and women alike are victims of sexually harassment and assault on a daily basis. Whether it be one’s co-worker that will find you attractive in the wrong way or just douche bags trying to be dumb and ignorant. The seven grizzlies in this article are some very brave souls. For them to do something about the abuse knowing what would’ve occurred if they did not take action is astounding feat. To go out and talk about their incident is also very brave of them to go out and tell their story so others know they need to take a stand if this is occurring in their life right now.
