The weekends are the worst. At least in my experience. This is the life of a procrastinator weekend edition.

Friday Evening …

After a tough week of doing nothing, it’s finally Friday night. The procrastinator decides that it is time to relax and watch the show that they have been watching all week instead of doing work. The only difference is that the procrastinator will probably binge watch the rest of the show and start a new one.

Saturday Morning …

Waking up. An easy first step to start the day, right? No. A procrastinator will stay up all night on Friday finishing 10,000 shows on Netflix. They don’t want to start the day because they feel  if they wake up later they will be more productive. That’s a lie, of course.

Noon….

The procrastinator would mostly likely have not woken up from the five minutes they told themselves five hours ago.

Finally, the procrastinator will realize that hunger has beaten the ability to push their day back. They will wake up debating if they actually need to eat. Their hunger will be left until the last moment before they eat their own hand.

7 p.m…

The procrastinator realizes that yesterday at the exact same time they said, “ I’ll do my work tomorrow.” With that, they think that they don’t  have time and the line once again adding, “I’ll start earlier tomorrow to not rush.” At this point, the procrastinator will feel good about their decision and continue watching YouTube because they are now  procrastinating from finishing their show on Netflix.
6:15 a.m Sunday …

Dawn is breaking and the procrastinator thinks back on yesterday. As they think they realize their life’s an endless cycle of pushing things until  tomorrow. At that moment they decide that  life is too short to not achieve things. Then, of course, they think, “Okay I’ll do it later. Let me  take a nap before I start …”

The procrastinator will then wake up from the nap that took a little longer than expected and will look at the clock  denying that they slept over ten hours. Realizing that they didn’t complete their work, they will say “I’ll do it in the morning.” They will then spend the entire night watching Netflix movies so they don’t have to do their work.

Monday Morning…

It’s 7:15 a.m., the procrastinator is late and they realize they haven’t done anything to help end the procrastination life. At school, they will finish homework in first period and believe that they do their best in ten minutes flat before the assignment is due. This is why they think that they perform better under pressure.

I love the humor and how much people can relate to procrastination. This article clearly explains how a procrastinator thinks and why they procrastinate. The most humorous parts of this article were the GIF’s added to create imagery. For instance, the last GIF is about waking up on Monday and the procrastinator completely regrets not doing the work sooner. Everyone can relate to this GIF because no one likes a Monday.
